ABOUT ME

From an early age, I knew I wanted to be in the helping professions. I went to college thinking I was going to be a doctor; however, that changed as I realized I wanted to work with the entire person (mind, body and soul) in order to promote healing and change.  As a therapist I am able to see the whole person, not a set of problems or symptoms to resolve. I believe that all humans have the ability to heal from within when given the right tools and support from the outside. This is why I love what I do and truly believe in the power of a helping relationship.

I completed my undergraduate studies in Anthropology at the University of California at Santa Barbara. After several years of work in medical device and business sales, I was dissatisfied with my career and felt stuck and unhappy. Intuitively, I knew I needed a change so I decided to go to back to school. I completed my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University in Phoenix, AZ.  After graduate school, I worked at a private psychiatric hospital, as well as, completed a two-year residency program in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I further enriched my clinical work by getting trained in EMDR by the EMDR Institute. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado and certified nationally by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).

So what does all this mean? It means I will draw from all my experiences and trainings in various methods of psychology to evaluate your concerns and give you personalized treatment. I work with each client as an individual creating a therapeutic environment that is unique to that person's needs. I want to help you remove the obstacles in your life and get the results to move forward, to live your life fully, and live your life well
